SUMMARY

Summer 2021, in the midst of the health crisis. Residents of a retirement home in Soignies finally get to come out of confinement. After fifteen months of isolation, a red double-decker bus takes them on a unique journey: a one-hour tour of their own city. Like a trip back in time.

Director Biography

Sophie Bruneau, filmmaker, anthropologist formation, has directed documentary films including « Cezanne » (2021, 61’), « Dreaming under capitalism » (2017, 63’), « Devil’s Rope » (2014, 88’), « Ghost America » (2014, 24’), « animal on est mal » (2014, 12’), and codirected « Madame Jean » (2011, 71’), « The land of utility » (2009, 112’), « They didn’t all die, but all of them were it » (2005, 80’), « My body is my degree » (2005, 18’), "Trees" (2001, 50’), "A country solicitor" (1999, 75’), "Fishing on horseback" (1993, 13’). Her films have been selected and awarded in many international film festivals: Rotterdam, DokLeipzig, Hot Docs, Mannheim, Festival dei Popoli, MARCIFI, Full Frame Documentary, Sydney, Lussas, Cinéma du Réel, FID, Göteborg, etc. She cofounded alter ego films, film production and distribution company based in Brussels (alteregofilms.be)
