Božidar Domagoj Burić


Born 24.11.1972 in Zagreb. He graduated history and archaeology on Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb. Works on Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) from 1995. Burić is the author (writer, director and composer) of several documentary films and educational TV shows, and of documentary series’: „Mysterious Middle Ages“ (2001), „Insane Roman Emperors“ (2005), „Croatian Kings“ (2011), „The Republic“ (2016) and „The Age of Uskoks“ (in production). He was awarded the FESTO Golden Star and FESTO Silver Star in Best TV trailer category in 2009. He is the winner of Annual Award of HRT for „Croatian Kings“ and Society of Croatian Historians’ „Vjekoslav Klaić“ award for accomplishments in promoting historical science. On Pula Film Festival – Croatia’s biggest and most important film festival – his series „The Republic“ special jury proclaimed winner in „Best Drama or Documentary Series“ category. He is the best-selling author of HRT abroad, with the most of his series’ broadcasted in more than 50 countries all over the world. Burić is multiinstrumentalist, vocal performer and composer, member of HDS (Croatian Composers Society).
